Assistant Cook

You will be:

• performing a varied role alongside a professional team, preparing and cooking nutritious, delicious meals for our 43 residents, guests and staff
• ensuring that our residents dietary needs and well-being are taken care of whilst presenting dishes in an attractive, appetising manner. You will need to be mindful of the appetites of each of the residents and how they prefer to consume food
• providing support to our Head Cook and taking responsibility in their absence. This will include being involved in managing stock levels, stock rotation, food ordering and ensuring HACCP and COSHH regulations are adhered to.

The ideal candidate will:

• have at least 5 years cooking experience in a professional kitchen
• have a minimum of Level 2 food hygiene certificate and the understanding of its practical application
• have own transport; parking is provided free of charge
• Above all else ………… love COOKING and TASTING food!!!

The hours are approximately 145 over a four-week period, (plus extra hours always available), this includes some weekends and evenings (finishing at 7pm).
