Care Team

Led by Matron, Ellie Abrams and assisted by Deputy Matron, Anju Matthews, you will be cared for by a dedicated team of registered nurses, care assistants and visiting professionals including a physiotherapist and chiropodist. This team will work together to develop and deliver your personalised care plan, ensuring it is always up to date to meet your needs.

Our high ratio of care staff to residents and low staff turnover means that you get to know the people taking care of you and can be assured continuity of care to the highest standard.

Catering Staff

When you first join us as a resident at The Dower House, you will meet with our Head Cook, Meryl Pearce, who will take time to understand your likes and dislikes together with any special dietary requirements you may have. Our menus are designed to make the most of fresh, seasonal ingredients, providing you with delicious, nutritionally balanced, dishes. The menu changes each week to ensure plenty of variety. When it’s time to celebrate your birthday, you’ll be invited to choose your favourite cake which will be baked and decorated by our highly trained cooks.

A member of the housekeeping team will visit you each day to discuss your menu choices.

Housekeeping & Laundry

Our housekeeping team, led by Iwona Rudnicka, are responsible for the cleanliness of the home, your laundry and also running and serving the dining room at lunchtime.

Your room is cleaned by a member of our housekeeping team every day. Each member of staff looks after no more than six rooms ensuring all rooms are always cleaned to a high standard throughout The Dower House.

Our in-house laundry is in operation seven days per week in order to provide a fast cleaning service. If required, we can carry out basic repairs to your clothing and provide a labelling service for your clothes when you first move in.

Grounds & Maintenance

The wonderful grounds, spanning 5 acres, are maintained by Ben and Terry. They are always happy to talk to you about their plans for the gardens and the current projects.

Maintenance is provided by Darren, who along with keeping the home safe with required maintenance is also available to move furniture, hang pictures or other little tasks that will make your room more homely.

Management & Administration

Both our General Manager and Matron have an office close to the main entrance, making them easily accessible to visitors, residents and staff.

For any general enquiries, our Administration team are in the office next to the front door and will be happy to help with any queries or day to day tasks. This office is manned Monday - Friday.

Our Accounts team are in a separate office and also welcome any queries in person should residents ever need them.
