Exciting refurbishments to improve our home

Author: Sara Stagg

We're embarking on some work to carry out some much needed refurbishments to our home - so please excuse the mess/noise if you visit us soon!

Our fantastic team have recently completed the first part of a current project of works which are being carried out to improve our home for everyone.
One of our upstairs bedrooms in the part of the home known as ‘the wing’ was rather small, and so not suitable as a bedroom due to the extreme lack of space. This room has now become a warm, cosy sitting room for any of our residents to use and also provides a space for those in the respite rooms in this part of the home which is close to their bedrooms - great for those who are building up mobility following an operation or for couples who both need to stay to have their own spaces as well as a room to come spend some time together.
The room also has a kitchenette so our housekeeping team can keep it stocked with drinks, helping enable those here short term to keep some independence.
We’ve also started preparing for work to begin on a new reception area and improvements to our staff room, which will mean a much more welcoming environment for visitors with a clear area as a first point of call. Improving our staff room means a better environment for staff to take their breaks and so enabling more restful breaks.
This does mean that when you visit you may see or hear some work being done, but we know you’ll love the results!
