Food
In order to provide you with first-class, nutritious meals, we employ a team of cooks. Ingredients are often locally sourced from the Winchester area, Hampshire farms and other local suppliers. Our Head Cook meets with you when you join us, taking care to discuss your dietary requirements, as well as your culinary likes and dislikes.
The last Food Standards Agency inspection in January 2024 resulted in a rating of 5 (very good), the highest level that can be achieved. Please click here to view the latest inspection results.
The wide-ranging menu is based on classic British fare and changes weekly. Meals are prepared in our modern, well-equipped kitchen. You are welcome to invite guests for teas and lunches, although this must be booked 24 hours in advance with the administrative team.
Dining Room & Meals
We believe that dining at The Dower House should be a pleasure. Our classic menu is prepared to top restaurant standards, using the finest ingredients the team has sourced for you. These are then perfectly cooked and beautifully presented with a complimentary glass of sherry at lunch. There is a fine selection of wines and spirits for you to purchase and enjoy.
Like any good restaurant, you can be sure that you will always find something you like on the menu. Head Cook, Meryl Pearce, ensures there is a wide selection on offer each day.
Family celebrations can also be catered for upon request and arrangements made in advance with our housekeeping, kitchen and administration teams.
