Here comes Christmas!

Here comes Christmas!

With Christmas Day just over a week away, festive celebrations are well under way here at The Dower House.

With not just one or two but at least FIVE different Christmas trees around the home, all beautifully decorated, plenty of lights twinkling and garlands and wreaths adorning mantelpieces and doors we’re all set for another spectacular festive season here in the home! See if you can spot all our trees when you visit!

On Monday afternoon we welcomed children from Westgate school to share some Christmas songs and carols with us. In the coming days we also have two other local schools visiting to sing - Kingsworthy and Kings school choirs will be filling the home with their renditions of Christmas songs and carols.

This coming Thursday 18th December we have what is now an annual tradition by way of The Dower House carol service. This will be led by Reverend Lis Chase and we welcome not only all staff and residents to join in but also friends and family of residents. It’s a really lovely occasion each year where we gather by the fire in the drawing room and celebrate the season. There may well also be chance to sample our fantastic chef’s homemade mince pies and mulled wine afterwards, which never disappoint! It is also an opportunity for us to take a moment to reflect and raise a glass to those who are no longer with us.
