Not ‘just’ a nursing home!

Our main priority is, of course, all our residents here at The Dower House and ensuring they always receive excellent, person-centred care. However, we also provide much needed space for others as well.

Andover Mind recently contacted us as they were looking for a new venue to host their monthly Carer’s Coffee Morning, something which is a well-established and much needed get together in many people’s calendar.

We’re very fortunate that we have a lovely drawing room, with comfy chairs and doors opening onto a beautiful courtyard. We also have the facilities to enable presentations or films to be shown if needed each month, as well as providing much needed tea and coffee.

As a result, we’ve been able to forge a new friendship and now host the Carer’s Coffee Morning for Andover Mind once a month, enabling them to continue providing great support to carers. This means that carers can come to somewhere welcoming and socialise with others facing similar challenges.

We recently also welcomed a lovely vintage bus from Friends of King Alfred Buses as part of a treat organised for carers week 2024.
