Respite Care

Respite Care

If you need regular help and support to remain living independently in your own home, you may occasionally need periods of respite care. For example, if you are cared for by a friend or family member and they plan to take a holiday.

The Dower House provides full nursing respite care in one of the four short stay rooms. All rooms are well appointed and are generously proportioned. You can book a short stay for periods from four weeks and we are often able to accommodate these stays at short notice.

When you visit The Dower House for a period of respite care, you will enjoy the benefits of a high staff to resident ratio together with the welcoming country house hotel ambience.

It is important that we are able to meet your personal care requirements whilst you undertake a period of respite care at The Dower House. In order to achieve this, we may visit you in your home or request some written information from you when you are booking a respite stay. This means that we can ensure we are able to fully meet your needs and preferences during your stay.

You will be able to enjoy the full range of social activities during your stay and many of our short stay visitors make new friends whilst they are with us.

"Thank you all for making my birthday such a happy occasion."

"Thank you all for making my birthday such a happy occasion. From the good wishes and hugs, the cake and fresh flowers, everything contributed to a really lovely day. It could have been a difficult first birthday away from home and instead it was a delight. The staff were so good on a day that must have been very trying for them. Thank you again."
